In a classroom in Sabadell, several young people are learning to solder copper, press pipes, and understand the intricacies of a profession with a bright future. They are the students of the AETES program (Aerothermal Energy + Employment = Energy and Social Transition). For many of them, it is the first time holding a wrench or a hydraulic press. They are beginning to acquire the necessary skills to forge a path in an expanding sector, driven by immense effort.
But what happens in this program goes far beyond technical learning. It demands absolute hard work and can be the beginning of something greater: a contract, a profession, and the chance to build an independent life. That is the core idea behind AETES, a project where the energy transition becomes a real gateway to the labor market for those willing to commit.
Fundaci贸n Eveho, which has spent decades accompanying vulnerable children and adolescents, noticed a recurring barrier. "Upon turning 18, these young people face far greater difficulties than the rest in accessing the labor market," explains Kautar Loukaini, their Director of Strategy. The shift in the energy model was opening a market with growing demand. Therefore, a new path has been forged to connect both realities.
The initiative won the First Green Entrepreneurship Call by Fundaci贸n Endesa. "We work so that the possibilities of the new energy landscape translate into concrete jobs," says Antonio Mera, Project Manager at Fundaci贸n Endesa. Achieving this, however, requires more than just funding; it requires the students' unwavering dedication.

Part II: The Road to Success
Reading Comprehension · Phase 2
Access to the course does not depend solely on interest. "90% are former wards of the state with a huge need to join the labor market," explains David Plaza, the aerothermal energy instructor. Diego arrived after losing his job. "I didn't know how to assemble things or solder, but the teacher was patient, and through my own perseverance, I learned." His classmate Omar Atmani highlights the practical nature of the trade: "This type of maintenance work cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence," he asserts. For both, mastering the trade meant making a heavy sacrifice, often giving up other things to learn and improve.
The teaching is divided into three modules: plumbing, aerothermal functions, and full system assembly. "When they started, they felt overwhelmed because they saw it all as very difficult. But they evolved and gained confidence," recalls Plaza. The decisive moment came when they finished the installation and saw it work.
AETES does not end with the delivery of a diploma. After the final evaluation, those who are ready can access the regular market. In this edition, out of 16 students, 6 were selected for immediate labor insertion. If they continue with this level of perseverance, they will secure long-term contracts. Ultimately, the project proves that giving opportunities to people from fragile situations yields incredible results when met with true determination.
