I have never been someone who loved studying. As a child, I didn't give it any importance and thought it wasn't that necessary. Over time, and especially after years of working, I have understood that education can open many doors and that it is never too late to change things or set new goals.

I work full-time, and balancing work with study has not been easy. There have been days of exhaustion, lack of motivation, and moments when it seemed impossible to find time to study. Even so, I decided to take the entrance exam because I am clear about what I want to achieve in the future: my goal is to become a local police officer, and I knew I had to take this step if I really wanted to get closer to that target.

"English was the subject I respected the most, precisely because I hadn't truly studied in many years."

However, little by little, with consistency, organization, and effort, I began to improve. In the end, I managed to get a 9 on the test—something I honestly would never have imagined a few years ago. Thanks to the support of the IPEP and the guidance of Don Manuel Molina, what seemed like an insurmountable wall became a real achievement.

I believe this experience has shown me that often we are the ones who set our own limits. Age doesn't matter, nor how long you've been away from school, nor if you work long hours. If you have a clear goal and are willing to put in the effort, results will come.

I have also learned to value the sacrifice made by so many adults who study while working, caring for their families, or carrying many responsibilities. Moving forward with studies under those conditions deserves immense credit.

"You never know what you're capable of until you decide to take the step. Sometimes a decision can completely change the course of your life."

That's why I encourage anyone who is doubting to try it. Even if it feels scary or difficult at first, it's worth it. If I, who as a child didn't even want to hear about studying, have been able to achieve this while working full-time, I am convinced that many more people can do it too.

THE GOAL

Antonio has a strong "why": becoming a police officer. Neuroscience tells us that a strong purpose is the fuel for learning.
