Why did it happen? Do you explain with a whole story (Sentence) or point to a thing (Noun)? ¿Por qué pasó? ¿Lo explicas con una historia completa (Frase) o señalas una cosa (Sustantivo)?

"Because I passed..." Porque aprobé...

"Since it is late..." Ya que (puesto que) es tarde...

NOUN or -ING

BECAUSE OF

Also: Due to, Owing to

"Because of the traffic..." Por culpa del tráfico... (Sustantivo)

"Due to being ill..." Debido a estar enfermo... (-ING)

The "Fact" Hack

Want to use Due to / Because of with a sentence? Add "the fact that".

"Due to the fact that he was tired..."

Debido al hecho de que estaba cansado... (Truco para convertir ancla en río).

DUE TO / OWING TO

Formal (Noun)

"Cancelled due to rain."

Cancelado debido a la lluvia. (Suena más formal que "Because of").

AS / SINCE

Start of sentence

"As you are here, help me."

Como estás aquí, ayúdame. (Suele ir al principio).

THANKS TO

Positive Cause

"Thanks to your help, we won."

Gracias a tu ayuda... (Causa positiva).

FOR + NOUN/-ING

Reason for fame/punishment

"Famous for his books." / "Punished for lying."

Famoso por sus libros. Castigado por mentir.
