Rewriting: reescribe las oraciones en inglés utilizando las palabras indicadas entre paréntesis (2)

Buenas tardes, estimados alumnos.

Tal y como os comentaba en una entrada anterior hace una semana, una de las tareas más difíciles de la gramática del inglés es la de reescribir una oración usando una palabra o palabras dadas.

 Ello implica conocer muy bien las estructuras de la gramática del idioma, a la par que el significado de las palabras. Dada la dificultad intrínseca de este tipo de ejercicios, iremos practicando poco a poco de cara al próximo examen. Os recuerdo que ya hicimos una práctica en clase, con uno de los ejercicios de vuestro libro, en el tema 1. Echadle un vistazo, por favor.

Vamos hoy a hacer una pequeña práctica usando verbos, de modo que tendremos que revisar primero la conjugación verbal inglesa y tenerla presente.

✍️ Ejercicios de Rewriting (Tiempos Verbales y Estructuras B2)

Reescribe las siguientes oraciones para que tengan el mismo significado que la frase original. Utiliza la palabra proporcionada entre paréntesis, sin cambiarla. 

1. Emily started the job in May. (working) Emily .......................................... since May.

2. Joe didn't go on holiday because he didn’t have enough money. (gone) If Joe had had enough money, he .......................................... on holiday.

3. I spent too much time on the beach, which I now regret. (spent) I wish I .......................................... so much time on the beach.

4. We sat on the plane for three hours before it took off. (been) Our flight took off after we .......................................... on the plane for three hours.

   Reescribe las siguientes oraciones para que tengan el mismo significado que la frase original.

   1. Emily started the job in May. (working) 

      Respuesta: Emily has been working since May. 

      Traducción: Emily ha estado trabajando desde mayo.

   2. Joe didn't go on holiday because he didn’t have enough money. (gone) 

      Respuesta: If Joe had had enough money, he would have gone on holiday. 

      Traducción: Si Joe hubiera tenido suficiente dinero, se habría ido de vacaciones.

   3. I spent too much time on the beach, which I now regret. (spent) 

      Respuesta: I wish I hadn't spent so much time on the beach.

      Traducción: Ojalá no hubiera pasado tanto tiempo en la playa.

   4. We sat on the plane for three hours before it took off. (been) Respuesta: Our flight took off after we had been sitting on the plane for three hours. 

      Traducción: Nuestro vuelo despegó después de que habíamos estado sentados en el avión durante tres horas.

   5. It's possible that Sarah will call us later this evening. (may) Respuesta: Sarah may call us later this evening.

      Traducción: Sarah puede que nos llame más tarde esta noche.

   6. They finally managed to finish the report after midnight. (succeeded) 

      Respuesta: They succeeded in finishing the report after midnight. 

      Traducción: Consiguieron terminar el informe después de medianoche.

   7. When did you start learning Spanish? (how) 

      Respuesta: How long have you been learning Spanish? 

      Traducción:¿Desde hace cuánto tiempo estás aprendiendo español?

   8. This exercise is easier than the last one we did. (as) Respuesta: The last exercise was not as easy as this one.
