Subject + Aux + Verb

DRAMATIC

Trigger + Aux + Subject + Verb

Phase 1

The "Red Triggers"

If you start a sentence with a Negative Adverb, you MUST invert. Si empiezas con un adverbio negativo, DEBES invertir.

NEVER / RARELY

Frequency negatives.

"Rarely do we see this."

Rara vez vemos esto. (Ojo: añadimos 'do').

NOT ONLY...

Adding emphasis.

"Not only is he rich..."

No solo es rico...

NO SOONER...

Immediate past action.

"No sooner had I arrived..."

Apenas había llegado... (Seguido de 'than').

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES

Strong prohibition.

"...should you open it."

Bajo ninguna circunstancia debes abrirlo.

ONLY THEN...

Limiting the time.

"Only then did I understand."

Solo entonces entendí.

LITTLE...

Negative knowledge.

"Little did he know..."

Poco sabía él... (No tenía ni idea).

Conditional Inversion (Removing IF)

Make your conditionals formal by deleting "IF" and inverting. Haz tus condicionales formales borrando "IF" e invirtiendo.

TYPE 2

"Were I you..."
