I. Conditionals (Mixed Types)

II. Relative Clauses (Non-defining)

III. Narrative Tenses

V. Causative Structures (Have/Get)

VI. Clauses of Purpose and Result

Join using SO THAT:

The lab purchased new cameras. They wanted to record the experiments in high resolution.

Join using IN ORDER THAT:

The library extended its hours. All citizens could access the archives after work.

Join using TO (Purpose):

He went to the airport. He wanted to pick up his parents.

Complete using SO... THAT:

The speaker was (fascinating). Nobody wanted the lecture to end.

Complete using SUCH... THAT:

It was (a sudden surprise). Everyone stood frozen in the room.

VII. Passive Voice (Impersonal)

1. Defining Relative Clauses

Información Esencial (Sin comas)

Estas frases definen de quién o qué estamos hablando.

The doctor who treated me was young.

🇪🇸 El médico que me trató era joven.

The pill that I took was huge.

🇪🇸 La pastilla que me tomé era enorme.

I know a place where we can relax.

2. Non-Defining Relative Clauses

Información Extra (Con comas)

Estas frases dan información extra.

Dr. Smith, who is British, is famous.

Writing Skill: A Summary

How to summarise? (Cómo resumir)

  • Identify the main idea: ¿De qué trata el texto realmente?
  • Paraphrase: Usa tus propias palabras, no copies.
  • Simplify: Elimina detalles innecesarios.

"Seaweed continues to grow, so does one major concern: how will we feed everyone? In many places around the globe, agricultural land has been taken over by motorways and housing."

Summary:
