      Speaking Lab: Comparing Pictures

In the exam, you often have to compare two photos (Similarities & Differences) and Speculate.

      Similarities

      • • "The pictures are similar because..."
      • • "One thing they have in common is..."
      • • "Both pictures show..."

      Differences

      • • "Unlike picture A, picture B shows..."

      Writing Skill: A Summary

      How to summarise? (Cómo resumir)

      • Identify the main idea: ¿De qué trata el texto realmente?
      • Paraphrase: Usa tus propias palabras, no copies.
      • Simplify: Elimina detalles innecesarios.

      Original Text:

"Seaweed continues to grow, so does one major concern: how will we feed everyone? In many places around the globe, agricultural land has been taken over by motorways and housing."

      Summary:

"As the population grows, finding enough food is becoming difficult because farmland is disappearing."

Your Turn: Summarise the "Night Owl" idea

Text idea: Teens have a different internal clock, so they wake up late. It's biological, not laziness.
