Aparece constantemente en textos científicos. Si en el ejercicio de sinónimos te piden buscar una palabra para perform o conduct, busca "carry out".

Clásico de rephrasing y salud. Recuerda que si le sigue un verbo, este siempre debe ir en gerundio (-ing). (Ej: give up smoking).

El sinónimo perfecto para establish o start. A menudo aparece en voz pasiva en los textos (was set up), estructura muy típica de la EBAU.

4. Esperar con ganas / Ansias

Truco de Examen:

¡Tu as en la manga para un email formal en el Writing! La regla de oro (y trampa típica) es que, aunque termine en 'to', el verbo que le sigue siempre va en -ing. Si lo haces bien, demostrarás un nivel B2 sólido.

Truco de Examen:

Suele aparecer en el Reading para darle un giro a la conclusión de un texto. Significa que algo terminó de una manera que no se esperaba inicialmente. (Ojo: a veces aparece como sustantivo: turnout = asistencia/participación).

Sinónimo directo de postpone o delay. Es súper típico que aparezca en los ejercicios de reescribir frases (rephrasing).

Aparece muchísimo en textos sobre el medio ambiente o crisis energéticas. Suéltalo en un Writing sobre el cambio climático y el corrector te amará.

Truco de Examen:

El sustituto perfecto y más natural para discover o learn (en el sentido de enterarse de algo) en textos de divulgación científica o narrativa.

Fundamental en textos de historia, economía o biografías. Significa asumir el control de algo (una empresa, un país, una responsabilidad) que antes gestionaba otra persona.
