"Lord, we know what we are, but know not what we may be." — Hamlet (Act 4, Scene 5)

Shakespeare’s words remind us that identity is never static; it is a journey. No one embodies this spirit of transformation better than Enrique Armenteros. Although he holds a degree in Translation from the University of Granada, his true calling has been shaping young minds. For the last 20 years, he has worked as a Spanish Language and Literature teacher in various high schools across the province of Jaén.

Decades of teaching the classics in the classroom have turned him into a master of storytelling. He has already conquered the literary world with successful novels like the mysterious La piel del hipopótamo and the deeply emotional Jarra Almas. But, as the Shakespeare quote suggests, Enrique is exploring what else he may be. As he passionately describes in his blog post regarding the character Kate, his creativity has crossed a new frontier: the theatre. You can read about this journey in his post "Sikate".

Now, his new play, Esperanza de vida, will premiere on Friday, February 20th at 19:30 at the historic Teatro Darymelia in Jaén. This is not just a performance; it is a charity event driven by a generous heart. You can witness this evolution by purchasing your tickets here: Get your tickets for Esperanza de vida.

However, the teacher’s words need light, sound, and fabric to come alive. A script is just paper until a team of professionals breathes life into it. This is where you come in.

Do you want to paint with light?

If you are in Jaén, the IES Auringis is your place. Their CFGS in Sound and CFGS in Lighting prepare you to control the atmosphere of the stage. Visit them at IES Auringis.

Do you want to dress the characters?

If you dream of designing the wardrobe that defines a hero, the IES Luis Buñuel in Málaga is the leading centre for the CFGS in Show Costumes. Check their offer at IES Luis Buñuel.

Enrique Armenteros has spent twenty years teaching students about the power of words. Now, it is time for students like you to show the power of the stage. "We know what we are", but with these studies, you will discover the amazing professional you "may be".
