"Lord, we know what we are, but know not what we may be." — Hamlet (Act 4, Scene 5)

Shakespeare’s words remind us that identity is never static; it is a journey. No one embodies this spirit of transformation better than Enrique Armenteros. Although he holds a degree in Translation from the University of Granada, his true calling has been shaping young minds. For the last 20 years, he has worked as a Spanish Language and Literature teacher in various high schools across the province of Jaén.

Decades of teaching the classics in the classroom have turned him into a master of storytelling. He has already conquered the literary world with successful novels like the mysterious La piel del hipopótamo and the deeply emotional Jarra Almas. But, as the Shakespeare quote suggests, Enrique is exploring what else he may be. Good evening, future artists. I am a fictional theatre director. For years, I have taught the structure of stories, but today, I want to talk about the structure of emotions. My transition from writing novels to directing a stage production has been terrifying. In a novel, you control the reader's pace. On stage, you are naked. In this imagined production, we faced a huge technical challenge. The script requires a specific lighting change in Act 2, exactly when the protagonist whispers. It represents the loss of hope. If the light fades one second too late, the emotion is lost. That is why I respect technicians so much. Also, note that while the tickets are for charity, we are not just donating money; we are donating visibility to a cause that is often silent. Oh, and a small detail for the observant: the main character never wears the color red, except in the final bow. That is a secret code invented for this story. See if you can spot why.
